Sylvia Rena Ziegler

This season Sylvia Rena Ziegler (mezzo-soprano) gave her debut at Oper Leipzig as Waltraute (Der Ring an einem Abend). Highlights of the last season are Angelina (La Cenerentola) and Carmen (Carmen) with Oper Chemnitz as well as her debut at the Nationaltheater Mannheim as Waltraute and Rossweiße (Der Ring an einem Abend). She studied at the ‚Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt‘ in Weimar, won 1st prize and the audience award at the ‚International Competition Schubert und die Musik der Moderne‘ in Graz and reveived several prizes at the ‚Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin‘. She is a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association Magdeburg and the Justus Hermann Wetzel Foundation of the University of the Arts in Berlin.

After her studies she became a member of the Opera Studio of Staatsoper Stuttgart, was a part of the ensemble in Magdeburg and made her role-debuts such as Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Rosina (Il barbier di Sevilla) Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Siebel (Faust), Ocatvian (Der Rosenkavalier) und Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel). Guest performances have taken her to the theaters in Freiburg, Heidelberg and Winterthur, as well as to the Heidenheim Opera Festival and the Ludwigsburg Schloss Festspiele. 

Sylvia Rena Ziegler is at home equally in the genres of opera and Lied, as well as contemporary music.
